Current status of the band

Autumn of 2017: We spent a number of days during the summer recording our upcoming, yet untitled album. First we recorded drums, guitars and bass at Soundlab Studios during nine days in the end of June/early July, followed by a number of vocal sessions in our rehearsal room in July and August. Currently the recording has been handed over to a yet to be announced mixing engineer to be completely finished soon. We recorded a total of 26 songs with the intention to have 20 on the album and save six for a new 7" EP or perhaps two split 7" EP's. This might change though.

We are really satisfied with the material. The songs are aggressive and diverse and it feels like we have a good chance in getting a strong grindcore album once it's finished.

Some of the song titles are "The Noose Tightens", "Dead Dull Future", "The Pain Maze", "The Wolven Law", "Streams of Sludge", "Demons and Angles”, ”A Life of Ceaseless Grind" and "Preemptive Nuclear Strike". We also have a few songs in Swedish, among others "Flytande död" that we have released as a YouTube demo. Check it out!

During 2016 we recorded, mixed and submitted two new songs for a Swedish compilation still to be announced soon. The songs are called "To Hell with Tomorrow" and "Ripped off and Left Behind" and clocks in at more or less exactly two minutes. The songs will not be on the upcoming LP!

Latest release: "Mankind Crawls" 7" EP

Slight history of the band

Axis of Despair features former and present members of such bands as Nasum, Coldworker, Infanticide, Volturyon, Livet som insats, Nervgift and Overtorture. To be exact: The band was formed by former Coldworker members Anders Jakobson (drums), Oskar Pålsson (bass) and Joel Fornbrant (vocals) in the end of 2013. About half a year later the line up was completed by Livet som insats member Kristofer Jankarls playing the guitar. The band continued to work on songs until the late spring of 2015 when the first 12 tracks were recorded to be released on two, sort of, conjoined 7" EP's. Expect more grindcore and more released from Axis of Despair in the near future!
